The Indiana High School Athletic Association held the volleyball sectional draw on Sunday evening with Wabash County having intriguing match-ups.

In Class A Sectional 52 hosted at Southwood, the Knights will meet Northfield in the lone first-round game on Thursday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. The winner of the match will meet Pioneer, one of the top-ranked teams in Class A.

On the other half of the bracket, North Miami will face Caston with the winner advancing to the final. Last season, Pioneer lost to Barr-Reeve in the state finals. The Panthers are 25-5 this season.

As for Northfield and Southwood, the two sides met at the end of September with the Norse winning 25-17, 25-17, 23-25, 25-16. Last season, Northfield beat Southwood in the opening round of the sectional in four sets before advancing the final and losing to Lafayette Central Catholic.

Meanwhile, in Class 2A Sectional 38 at Bluffton, Wabash and Manchester will face-off in the first round on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. The winner will meet Fort Wayne Canterbury who received the one bye into the semi-final.

In the other half of the bracket, Adams Central will face Bluffton and Whitko will face South Adams with the winners meeting in the semi-final. South Adams is a reigning sectional champion in a sectional that included South Adams and Bluffton.

Wabash and Manchester met for the lone time this season on Tuesday evening but results were unavailable as of Plain Dealer deadline. Wabash also won a sectional last season, advancing all the way to the semi-state.

Admission into the events will be $6 per session or $10 for all sessions.
