WCP releases Drive Sober results

The Wabash City Police (WCP) again participated in Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over enforcement period, releasing final numbers in a Sunday press release from Cpt. Matt A. Benson, public information officer.

This enforcement was a joint effort with over 230 Indiana Law Enforcement agencies to increase patrols and deter impaired driving and was supported with National Highway Traffic Safety Administration funds distributed by the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute.

Over 25 days, WCP increased enforcement issued 107 citations and made 11 criminal arrests.

“Our commitment to saving law and enforcing the law continues throughout the year,” stated Benson.

In every state, it is illegal to drive with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .08 or higher. In Indiana, drivers under 21 with a BAC of .02 or higher are subject to fines and a license suspension for up to one year.
