Norwood Golf Course hosted the annual Huntington North Invitational on Tuesday with Manchester, Wabash and Northfield all taking part in the tournament.

Homestead placed first on the day with a round of 293 while Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger shot a 353 and Fort Wayne Carroll a 361.

Wabash was the top team from Wabash County as the Apaches’ score of 372 slotted them sixth. Northfield followed right behind in seventh with a score of 399. Manchester fielded an incomplete team and did not have a team score.

Annie Cole led the Apaches on the day with a round of 85 to tie for 10th-lowest individually on the day. Homestead’s quartet of Maddi Dabagia, Morgan Dabagia, Simone Senk and Megan Yoder took the top four individual spots on the day with Maddi Dabagia’s round of 70 earning medalist honors.

Following Cole for Wabash was Bella Carrillo with a 91, Lindsey Mattern with a 96 and Halle Miller with a 100.

Emma Wynn led the way for Northfield with a 94 while Ainsley Dale had a 95. Alex Cartwright had a 101 and Ella Satterthwaite had a 109 while Briana Williams finished with a non-scoring 126.

For Manchester, Samantha Kissell had an 89 while Alissa Bickerstaff fired a 106 and Delani Henderson a 139.

“It was good to see our mindset on the second straight day of 18-hole competitions,” Manchester head coach Josh Troyer said in an e-mail to the Plain Dealer. “I felt like we hit the ball better at times today and showed some good steps in the right direction. I’m looking forward to minimizing our big numbers and seeing what these girls can do with a full squad in the coming weeks.”

Manchester and Wabash will both be in action on Thursday at the Manchester Invitational, a nine-hole event, starting at 5 p.m. at Sycamore Golf Course.
