IFCA All-Star game rosters announced

RUSH: Delton Moore rushes around the edge for Manchester during the Squires' regular season game against Northfield last fall.

- Staff reports

Five Wabash County athletes will take part in the 19th Annual East/West Indiana HOF All-Star Classic Football Game at Delta High School on Friday, June 21.

Manchester’s Delton Moore and Chase Williams, Southwood’s Cam Ball and Jackson Miller and Northfield’s Jasper Donaldson will all make the trip to Delaware County for the exhibition contest. All five athletes will compete for the West team which will be coached by Marion’s Mark Hartman.

This year's game will have 70 graduated Seniors from 60 High Schools across the eastern side of Indiana. The players were nominated and selected by their coaches.

Last fall, Moore finished second in the conference in rushing with 1,701 yards on 223 carries, an average of 7.6 yards per carry. Moore averaged 170.1 yards per game and peaked in a single game this season against Wabash with 334 yards and three touchdowns. The senior running back also rushed for 296 yards and three scores in a 66-7 beatdown against Peru in the regular season finale.

Williams, meanwhile, was a focal point of both the offensive and defensive line for the Squires. Defensively, Williams had 29 tackles on the year with one tackle for a loss.

Donaldson was an anchor for the Norse defensively with 107 total tackles and 10 tackles for a loss. The senior never had a game with less than nine tackles last season with his season-best total of 15 coming in a season-ending loss to Adams Central in the sectional.

For Southwood, Miller and Ball were parts of an offensive and defensive line that powered the Knights to a perfect regular season record and a Three Rivers Conference title. Ball played a bigger role defensively, finishing second on the team in tackles with 93 while Miller finished with 66 tackles. Ball also had two interceptions, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery on the season.
