Three people were transported to the hospital after a head-on collision near Ind. 114 and Ind. 15 on Wednesday afternoon.

Shortly before 1 p.m., Wabash County Sheriff’s and paramedics responded to an accident west of the Ind. 114 and Ind. 15 intersection.

Emergency responders reported two drivers had collided head-on for an unknown reasons, both of them driving what appeared to be SUVs. The drivers and one passenger, whose identities were not released on Wednesday, suffered non-life threatening injuries and were later transported via ambulance.

The crash caused Indiana State Police and the sheriff’s department to close the west side of the intersection during cleanup. Eastbound traffic leading up to the crash was backed up for more than a quarter mile for over half an hour.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
