St. Paul’s tenderloin supper

St. Paul’s County Line Church in Andrews is having their annual all you can eat tenderloin dinner Saturday, May 11 from 4-7 p.m. in the Family Life Center at the church. Adult admission is $9, children 6-12 years-old are $6, and children 5 years-old and under eat for free. All proceeds go to help the church’s mission trip to the Dominican Republic this year.

Monthly luncheon

The Woman’s Clubhouse Association are excited to host Carolyn Shelton on May 14, presenting a program on the Holy Land. The luncheon will begin at noon, with the program following. Please make your reservations by May 10 with Carol McDonald, 260-563-2331 or Mary Delauter, 260-563-6613. The house is decorated for spring and thoughts have turned to the garden out front.

Business tangible personal property tax deadline

All business tangible personal property tax returns must be filed in the Wabash County Assessor’s Office by May 15. Every person, including a firm, company, farmer or individuals holding, owning, possession or controlling tangible personal property as of Jan. 1 of any year is required to file a personal property tax return each year. The assessor’s office emphasized that this is not property taxes, but a different tax altogether. Please call (260) 563-0661 ext. 1227 or 1293 for more information from the assessor.

Evening with the mayor

The City of Wabash will host its second Evening with the Mayor event at 6 p.m. at the Wabash Historical Museum on Thursday, May 16. The event will feature a presentation Mayor Scott Long and Visit Wabash County Executive Director Christine Flohr followed by a Q&A session. Topics covered in this events will include taxes, construction updates, the national retail convention, tourism and how it affects the community and state legislation that will affect us locally. Residents can submit questions on the City of Wabash Facebook page via private message.

Book Sale

Thursday, May 16 to Saturday, May 18, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Friends of the Library book sale is back at NMPL. Purchasing books from the semi-annual book sale is an excellent way of supporting our library, so stop by for a great deal on books, DVDs, audios, children’s material and more.

Wabash Farmers Market

The Wabash Farmers Market is just around the corner! Residents can visit the farmers market every Saturday, starting May 18 and running until Oct 19. The market will be open 8 a.m. to noon in downtown Wabash.

Taco and Nacho Night

Friday, May 24 at VFW Wabash Post #286. Dinner served from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Dinner includes dessert. $8.00 per plate. Carry out available. Karaoke from 8 p.m.-11 p.m. Come eat and sing with us to support our county veterans. Public over age 18 invited.

Free Spanish classes

Take beginner Spanish classes taught by David Fisher, a teacher at the Learn More Center, for free at the North Manchester Public Library! David is fluent in Spanish from his three years of living in Mexico. All text books and learning materials will be provided for free by NMPL and the instructor. Classes will be held every Thursday at 5 p.m. and every Saturday at 2 p.m. through the end of 2019.

Free low impact fitness

Taught by MJ McClelland three days a week, Mondays and Thursdays at 9:45 a.m., Wednesdays at 3 p.m. at Living Well Winchester Center, 239 Bond Street; no registration required.

Cancer care advocate

Cancer Care Advocate Every Friday: 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. No appointment needed. Living Well Winchester Center, 239 Bond St. in Wabash. Supported by Hope Foundation.

DivorceCare

DivorceCare, a 13-week DVD series sponsored by Wabash Friends Counseling Center, features some of the nation’s foremost Christian experts on topics concerning divorce and recovery. The support group meets at 6:30 p.m. every Tuesday in Room 112 in the Wabash Friends Church, 3563 South State Road 13, Wabash. Group leader and members of the group meet for dinner at 5:30 p.m. at Subway, 1812 S. Wabash Street on State Road 15, Wabash. Community Corrections board meetings

The Wabash County Community Corrections Advisory Board will meet at noon in the basement of the Wabash County Sheriff’s Department on Tuesday, May 28, Wednesday, Aug. 14 and Tuesday, Nov. 12.
