Smoked pork chop dinner

The Somerset Lions Club will hold a smoked pork chop dinner on Friday, April 12 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Somerset Community Building. Meals with an 8 oz. pork chop, green beans, baked beans, with applesauce and a drink are $9, and $3 meals include a hot dog with the same sides. Desserts are available for donation. Proceeds will benefit the Somerset community.

Covered Bridge Festival Fundraiser

There will be a fundraiser for the Roann Covered Bridge Festival on Saturday, April 13, at the Roann Community Building. Richvalley Tenderloin Meals will be served from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., including baked beans, applesauce, chips and drink. Desserts are available for a free will donation. Adult Meal: $9 and child’s meal (5-12 years) $6. Sandwich only for $5

OJ Neighbours is bringing the carnival back

The carnival will be Saturday, April 13 from 5-7 p.m. at OJ Neighbours Elementary School. Students, when accompanied by an adult, will enjoy a fun filled evening of games, prizes, and food. You can purchase an all inclusive wristband with the exception of food. Bracelets can be preordered until March 28 for $10. Bracelets can also be purchased at the door for $15. We will have face painting, games galore, pizza, a cake walk, and much more! There will be a silent auction available where adults can bid on a variety of items. Class art projects and grade level baskets will be going up for a live auction. The silent auction will run from 5 - 6:30 p.m. The live auction will begin at 6 p.m.

Genealogical Society meeting

The Wabash County Genealogical Society meets on Monday, April 15 at Wellbrooke of Wabash beginning at 6 p.m. This month’s speaker is Thad Butler Reynolds, author of the book “Consider the Rock.” He will discuss the process of researching, writing, and publishing his interesting family history. We all have a story to tell--come learn more about how it’s done! Meetings are always open to the public.

Bingo Fundraiser

Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority, Nu Chapter, will host a bingo fundraiser in Wabash on Tuesday, April 30, at 6:30 p.m. at Wabash REMC at 350 Wedcor Avenue. 20 bingo games will be played with the winner of each game receiving a prize, including gift certificates, purses, pottery and baskets and more. Raffles, 50/50 and intermission games will be part of the evening as well. 200 tickets will be sold, $20 per game with three boards per person. Participants must be 18 or older to attend.

Free low impact fitness

Taught by MJ McClelland three days a week, Mondays and Thursdays at 9:45 a.m., Wednesdays at 3 p.m. at Living Well Winchester Center, 239 Bond Street; no registration required.

DivorceCare, a 13-week DVD series sponsored by Wabash Friends Counseling Center, features some of the nation’s foremost Christian experts on topics concerning divorce and recovery. The support group meets at 6:30 p.m. every Tuesday in Room 112 in the Wabash Friends Church, 3563 South State Road 13, Wabash. Group leader and members of the group meet for dinner at 5:30 p.m. at Subway, 1812 S. Wabash Street on State Road 15, Wabash.
