Police ID driver in hit and run

BY Kaitlin Gebby - kgebby@wabashplaindealer.com

Police have identified the driver involved in a hit and run accident on Market Street Friday afternoon.

A pedestrian was riding his bicycle down Market Street when a black SUV struck the cyclist and fled the scene, witnesses said.

One witness reported that they heard the collision and looked out their shop window to see an SUV taking off. Crow’s Nest Antique Mall owners Melanie and Tom Boyll said they knew the pedestrian, and that they’d given him a cart from their store for him to collect cans to recycle.

Wabash City Police and paramedics were on scene providing medical attention to the victim. He laid in the road before slowly sitting up to be transported to the hospital for treatment.

Police used video evidence and witness accounts to determine that the bicyclist rode out of the Veterans Plaza and into the path of the westbound SUV. The alleged driver of the vehicle was identified as Todd C. Larrowe, 47, of Wabash. According to a press release from Wabash Police, this case is still under investigation.
