A Roann woman was airlifted to Parkview Regional Hospital in Fort Wayne after a car crash on Thursday morning.

Natosha Nichols, 40, of Roann, was driving west on 1050 North near North Manchester just before 9 a.m. when she swerved to avoid hitting a deer crossing the road. She said she lost control of her red 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt and drove into a farm field, where she flipped her car twice before finally coming to a stop, according to Wabash County Sheriff’s Department crash reports.

Responding officers said she was ejected from her vehicle, who later noted that she was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident.

When help arrived on scene, Nichols complained of pain, but did not give a specific location. Authorities could not provide further detail on her injuries. She was airlifted to Parkview Regional Hospital in Fort Wayne for medical assistance.
