Gordmans is opening up a new location in Wabash and is celebrating their grand opening after a ribbon cutting ceremony on March 21.

Gordmans is a retail chain owned by Stage Stores, which is based out of Houston, Texas and operates over 68 locations in the U.S.

According to a press release from Grow Wabash County, Jenny Clifton, a Stage Stores spokesperson, said the retail chain saw an opportunity to move into the former Goody’s location at 1443 N. Cass St., next to Wings Etc. She said the company is opening 38 new locations across the U.S. in March and an additional 36 stores this summer.

“Gordmans has been delighting shoppers for more than 100 years and looks forward to becoming a part of the Wabash community,” she said.

The store will offer prizes at their grand opening to the first 100 customers, including free shoppers cards and a chance to win a $50 gift card.

Grow Wabash County CEO Keith Gillenwater said the new home decor shop will be a good fit for shoppers in the Wabash area.

“Gordmans’ slogan ‘Where Frugal Meets Fierce’ is a great precursor to the quality and style of the home decor they will offer in our community,” he said. “We look forward to our ribbon cutting on March 21st and welcome them to Wabash County.”

The ribbon cutting and grand opening of the store is scheduled for Thursday, March 21 at 9 a.m. Their hours of operation will be Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
