PERU — Miami County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 18-year-old Logansport resident Brayden Berkshire in the Sunday shooting death of 18-year-old Nathan Joe Hopper, according to a press release from the Miami County Sheriff’s Office.

Hopper, whose body was found early Sunday morning, was pronounced dead by gunshot wound at the scene.

According to the updated information, Berkshire was arrested on initial charges of level 5 felony reckless homicide and level 6 felony obstruction of justice for her “alleged involvement of the Feb. 2 shooting death of Nathaniel Hopper.”

Berkshire was arrested by MSCO detectives near 7 p.m. Monday without incident. She was released from the Miami County just before midnight Monday on a $1,500 cash bond.

The Miami County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation is ongoing and is including the Miami County Coroner’s Office and the Indiana State Police.
