Southwood places nine on All-TRC team

Nine members from the Three Rivers Conference (TRC) champion Southwood football team earned All-Conference honors as announced on Monday.

In total, 18 players from the four Wabash County schools were named to the All-TRC team for the fall. Northfield had four players named, Wabash had three and Manchester had two, including the conference’s second-leading rusher in Delton Moore.

Southwood’s Gabe Lloyd, who finished atop the conference in rushing after the Knight’s run through the tournament with 1,756 yards on the year, headlines Southwood’s honorees. Lloyd finished second in the TRC in total yards with 1,849, an average of 154.1 yards per game.

On the offensive line, the duo of Cameron Ball and Aiden Ortega earned spots while Jackson Simons was named to the team as a kicker.

Defensively, Dillon Filip, Jackson Miller, Elijah Sutton and Riley Whitesel all were named to the All-TRC team along with Connor Rich earning an at-large spot for the defense.

For Northfield, Jared Peas and Jasper Donaldson earned spots as a wide receiver and offensive lineman, respectively. Ross Watson earned a spot on the All-TRC offense as an at-large. Graydon Holmes earned a spot as a linebacker on the All-TRC Defense for the Norse.

Wabash’s offensive duo of quarterback Jared Holley and wide receiver Logan Vander Velden were named to the All-Conference Offense while Justin Samons earned an at-large spot on the All-TRC Defense.

Holley finished third in the conference in total yards with 1,795 this season in 10 games, an average of nearly 180 yards per game.

Along with Moore, the Squires saw offensive lineman Keegan Shockome named to the All-TRC offense. Moore’s 1.701 yards in 10 games led to an average of 170.1 yard per game, highest in the conference this fall.

Each school in the conference earned two Honorable Mention selections for the team as well. Manchester’s Jackson Mathias and Tyce Rooney, Northfield’s Daniel Driscoll and Logan Cox, Southwood’s Carson Rich and Logan Barley and Wabash’s Isaiah Eis and Keegan O’Neill were named from Wabash County.
