by ANDREW CHRISTMAN - achristman@wabashplaindealer.com

Three arrests were made Tuesday evening after officers from the Wabash City Police Department were led on a pursuit.

Wabash City Police Public Information Officer Capt. Matt Benson told the press that the incident occured after officers were called to the Papa Johns on Cass Street on Tuesday regarding a possible theft. Police identified three suspects as Ryan Moon, 21, and Dianna Moon, 54, both of Fort Wayne, and Aletha Royal, 33, of Marion.

Benson said Capt. Chad Calligan reportedly identified the suspect vehicle near Stitt and Cass streets, but the vehicle fled the scene traveling south along Wabash Street and continuing south of Ind. 15 out of Wabash. City Police then used stop sticks near Ind. 15 and Wabash County Road 700S, but Benson said the vehicle continued southbend after running over the stop sticks until it came to a stop near Wabash County Road 800S. Benson said two of the suspects were taken into custody at that time without further incident. City Police say the third suspect was detained at Village Pantry prior to the pursuit.

Ryan Moon was arrested on preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement with a motor vehicle, operating after never receiving a license, reckless driving, according to City Police. He was also arrested on warrants for parole violation and a probation violation from Allen County.

City Police say Dianna Moon was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear from Allen County, while Royal was arrested on two preliminary charges of theft.

Benson noted an investigation has lead to a fourth person who is expected to face narcotic charges.

The three suspects arrested in the case were transported to the Wabash County Jail.
