Voter registration deadline today

Today is the deadline to register to vote ahead of the midterm elections Nov. 6. Voters may do so in-person at the Wabash County Clerk’s Office before 4 p.m., or online at www.indianavoters.in.gov by midnight.

Early voting begins tomorrow, also in the Wabash County Clerk’s Office. The office will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays through Nov. 2, and from 8 a.m. to noon Nov. 5.

Saturday voting will be available from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 27 and Nov. 3, at the clerk’s office and satellite locations in North Manchester and LaFontaine. Those locations are: Timbercrest Retirement Community (Oct. 27) and Peabody Retirement Home (Nov. 3) in North Manchester, and Liberty Township Fire Department (Oct. 27 & Nov. 3) in LaFontaine.

There are several key local races in Wabash County this fall. Among them are the school board elections for MSD of Wabash County and Manchester Community Schools. A public question will apear on ballots in Chester and Pleasant Townships regarding several building projects MCS plans to pursue, commonly known as Squire Fieldhouse.
