First Founders' Day is Saturday

Compiled by the WPD STAFF

The inaugural Wabash Founders’ Day Festival and Parade starts at 10 a.m. tomorrow.

The festival opens with a parade, which will wind down Canal Street starting at the Carroll Street intersection before heading to Paradise Spring Historical Park, then back to Carroll Street via Market Street.

Festivities will continue at noon throughout the downtown area and at Paradise Spring Historical Park, where historical performances related to Wabash’s founding and family-oriented activities will be held.

But there are other activities in Wabash this weekend too.

The 13-24 Drive-In will reopen tonight for College Night. Students with a valid college ID will gain free admission, while all others will be admitted for $5 per car. Gates open at 7 p.m.

The author James Alexander Thom will share a presentation at the Honeywell House at 7 p.m. tonight before he heads to the Founders’ Day Festival on Saturday.

The Wabash Farmers’ Market will return on Saturday as well, coinciding with the Founders’ Day Festival.
