City to spray for mosquitoes

by the WPD STAFF

The Wabash City Street Department will begin its annual mosquito spraying program tonight.

Crews will spray for mosquitoes for three days this week, concluding on Thursday. Trucks will cover the south side of Wabash from Canal Street south tonight, weather permitting. On Wednesday, spraying will take place north of Canal Street and west of Miami Street. Crews will cover the remainder of the city north of Canal Street and east of Miami Street on Thursday, the department said.

Spraying will not occur if it is raining or if wind speeds exceed 10 miles per hour, the department said. In addition to spraying, crews will trap and test mosquitoes for viruses.

The Street Department said residents who do not wish to have their block included may call 260-563-3611 to be included in a do not spray list, which will cover the entire block of residents included on the list.
