Sheila Kay Dixon Honeycutt Oct. 12, 1963 - Sept. 8, 2018

Sheila Kay Dixon Honeycutt, 54, of rural Rochester passed unexpectedly at 10:02 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, at her residence.

She was born on Oct. 12, 1963, in Paintsville, Kentucky, to Russell and Ellen Arlene (Murray) Dixon.

She married on Feb. 7, 1981, in Wabash to Darrell Honeycutt; he survives.

She had worked for Rochester Metal, Dalton Foundry of Warsaw and Gen Corp. of Wabash.

She attended the House of Prayer of Akron. She adored spending time with her family, especially her kids and grandkids. She enjoyed singing and listening to bluegrass music. She relished the summer and was fond of taking pictures. She loved to spend time with her husband in the morning hours listening to the Trading Post on the radio.

Survivors include her husband, Darrell Honeycutt, Rochester; daughters, Jessica and husband Mark France of Akron and Erin Honeycutt of Rochester; sons, Darrell Eugene and wife Brooke Honeycutt of Akron and Lane Honeycutt of Rochester; grandchildren, Dawson, Logan, Aydin, Jaylynn, Carter and Jayden; great-grandchild, Dean; sister Paula; and brothers Phillip and Mike.

Sheila was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Francis, Mag, Brenda and Teresa; and brothers Victor and Lee.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018, at the Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 W. Rochester St., Akron, Indiana, with Pastor Danny Honeycutt officiating. Burial will follow in the Akron Cemetery, Akron. Visitation hours will be from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018, at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron.
