Cole Memorial Golf Tourney Aug. 10

The Jeremy Cole Memorial Golf Tournament will be held on Sunday, Aug. 10 at Honeywell Golf Course. The day will begin with a 1 p.m. shotgun start and will be a four-player scramble.
Registration will take place 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. with a small lunch from noon-12:45 p.m.
Prizes will be awarded for the first, second, third and last place teams. Longest drive and closest to pin challenges will also be awarded for both men and women.
All proceeds from the tournament go to the Northfield High School golf program and a scholarship fund in Cole's name.

Etna results
In Etna Acres Senior League action on Wednesday, there was a four-way tie for first place with a score of 33.
The team of Chuck Ravenscroft, Tom Oldencamp, Jim Myers and Kyle Smith won on a tie-breaker back-up.
Sam Rumple, Mack Sluss, Ronnie Fields and Jack Love tied with Jim DuBois, Bob Templin and Al Pilkins. The team of Jerry McVicker, Denny Thorton, John Day and John Myers finished up the first-place ties.
On No. 2, Hevv Wieford took the closest-to-pin challenge and DuBois won the event on No. 8.
In the longest drives challenges, Larry Richardson took the event on hole 3 and Charlie Forrester had the longest shot on No. 4.
Todd Stoffel led the Tuesday Night Men's League with a 36, and Ed Tackett was close behind, shooting a 39.
Stoffel took the two closest-to-pin challenges on holes 2 and 8. Doug Hipskind had the longest drive on No. 3.
Table tennis tournament
The 29th annual FunFest Table Tennis Tournament will take place on Saturday, Aug. 9 starting at 8:30 a.m. The tournament will be held at Scout Hall in Warvel Park, at the intersection of 7th and Market Streets in North Manchester.
There will be competitions in seven different categories, including one doubles and six singles events.
Singles events include: 15-and-under, novice, Wabash County, Woman's, 40-and-over and open. The open singles and doubles events provide a chance to mix up the competition.
Preliminary matches will be played in the form of modified single or double elimination round robins. All matches will be best two-of-three games.
First place trophies will be awarded in events with three or more entries, while second place trophies will also be awarded in events with six or more entries.
Tennis shoes are required and participants are asked to bring their own paddles, though paddles will be on hand for those without their own.
